The MAAPFoundation involvement in Uganda communities begins with being invited as a partner involved in a project of concern to local leaders.
We resist being considered as a source of exclusively being helpful supplying external solutions.
Instead, as members of an “alliance” we accompany local leaders in “problem finding” first to investigate issues and clarify underlying factors that are associated with a concern seen to be a problem. Next, engagement capitalizing on local resources a plan of collaboration follows.
The MAAPFoundation volunteers assist in filling in the gaps that can lead to fulfillment of a plan of collaboration. This is our “Ubuntu” model we are implementing.
